Massage Therapy, Tailored To You

Optional Techniques & Add-Ons

The following techniques may be requested and incorporated into your session when appropriate. Some techniques are best suited for longer sessions to allow adequate time for effective application and integration into the overall treatment.

PNF

Proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) is a form of stretching that utilizes muscle contraction and relaxation to improve flexibility and range of motion. After taking a muscle into a stretch, the client will engage either the stretched muscle or its agonist for five to 10 seconds. The contraction is then relaxed, and the muscle is moved into a deeper stretch and held for ~30 seconds. This process can be repeated to further gain ROM.

Cupping Therapy

Cupping therapy is an excellent complement to many massage techniques. It's an effective method for breaking up myofascial adhesions and enhancing the benefits of bodywork. Additionally, it helps release stagnant buildup in the muscles, supporting the lymphatic system’s ability to eliminate waste. This technique can be especially helpful for anyone experiencing limited range of motion or persistent pain, and when used thoughtfully, it can be a real game-changer for how your body feels. For best results, cupping is typically incorporated into 90-minute or longer sessions, where there is adequate time for proper application and integration.

Trigger Point

Trigger point therapy focuses on identifying active trigger points and applying consistent pressure to the area until the pain fully subsides. This process can last from 30 seconds to a couple of minutes. While the initial discomfort from pressing on a trigger point can be quite intense, it usually decreases rapidly.

Deep Tissue

Deep tissue massage delivers targeted attention by applying firmer pressure to reach the deeper muscle layers. This technique aids in alleviating knots and breaking up adhesions that can lead to pain, tension, and decreased range of motion.
